Serenity is a psychosocial support center, started its journey on 4th September, 2018 with the motto of promoting psychological wellbeing through providing psychological services in our society. There are three members of our governing body/ there are three managing partners, dreamt to contribute the society through these services and took relevant initiatives to make their dream true. It is situated in the urban of Chattogram district where the mental health professionals provide their expert services to both clinical and nonclinical cases as outdoor basis. Serenity offers various services of individual psychotherapy, psychometric assessment, psycho-education, group counseling, marital counseling and family therapy etc. Serenity also conducts workshop and training related to mental health issues and awareness building programs to take preventive measures and some community care like educational institution based program. Serenity also takes step to provide voluntary service as social responsibility.
In our country, the most psychological services are available in capital city but other districts are suffering from the scarcity of psychological center. The Chattogram district has the area of 5,282.92 sqkm and the total population is 7,616,352. In our culture we are not enough concerned about mental health as much in physical health. Mental health wellbeing is a balance in all aspects of our life. It is not the mere absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her society. So, it was verily needed to have a psychological center in the second capital of Chattogram district.
